This remarkably sturdy projector was updated in
the 1960's with stereo capabilities. The transport system is
relatively jiggle free, as was necessary where the intended
screen size was 25' or more. Unfortunately, it turned out that no
lab was willing or able to come up with an equally precise 16mm
printing method. Projects to place this machine in commercial
houses were abandoned and the Model 25 was consigned to use on
college campuses and other non-theatrical applications. In 1988
another attempt to resurect commercial 16mm developed at AMC
theaters. The Model 25 was updated to the Model
40 but again the idea failed for lack of good lab prints and
the inability of managers and ushers to operate the unusual
machine.
