| These three
projector models are physically and mechanically similar
in design. Only the 1552 was equiped with Directamotion
control. Directamotion® shows sequential action by
stopping and starting the film, one or more frames at a
time, in forward or reverse. It always stops "on
frame" - no framing required. Directamotion is
controlled by lever. Also has silent film (18 frames per second) playback capabilities. The model
1545 projectors are aqua and charcoal in color and are
not equipped with the illuminated control panel, film
path access door or mechanism door. Early 1552 front
covers had a tendency to open when titled sideways. Also
the still picture function in early 1552's required a
parts kit modification to work properly. The
"Directamotion" feature was also available for
use with an optional remote control that plugged into the
back of the machine near the speaker jack. There were the earlier "A" models
with a small diameter (S-250) speaker jack and only high
lamp brightness (non-selectable). The later models were
the "B" version with a standard 1/4"
speaker jack and a "Hi-Lo" lamp brightness
selector slide switch (located on the main frame near the
projection lens. The "A" and "B"
models were wired differently |
